Political tensions between U.S. President Donald Trump and the world’s richest man, Elon Musk, have reached a boiling point. Disagreements over the Republican tax bill have sparked such intensity that Trump has now hinted at the possibility of deporting Musk. The Trump-Elon Musk conflict is now dominating headlines as both figures escalate their attacks.
Speaking to reporters in Florida, Trump was asked whether he might consider deporting Musk over his vocal opposition to the GOP tax proposal. His cryptic response — “I don’t know, we’ll see.” — has ignited a new wave of political debate across Washington.
Elon Musk, who was born in South Africa and rose to fame and fortune in the United States, has fiercely opposed the Republican-backed tax bill. The proposed legislation may eliminate the $7,500 consumer credit for electric vehicles — a move seen as a significant blow to companies like Tesla.
In a series of biting statements, Musk referred to the Republican party as “swine” and suggested he might form a new political party to challenge the status quo. These remarks have further deepened the Trump-Elon Musk conflict, pushing it beyond policy into personal territory.
Taking to his social media platform “Truth Social,” Trump lashed out at Musk, accusing him of receiving the largest government subsidies in U.S. history. “If it weren’t for those handouts, he’d be back in South Africa, running a bicycle shop,” Trump mocked.
Trump added sarcastically, “No rockets, no satellites, no electric cars — and America would’ve saved billions.” He proposed a review of all subsidies through a new agency he dubbed the “Department of Government Expenditure (DOGE).”
This isn’t the first time the two have clashed over business and politics. Their feud has also played out in high-stakes matters involving Starlink and Tesla, adding further fuel to the ongoing tension.

In response, Musk fired back: “I’ll fight for America until the last drop of my blood.” He vowed to prove that the United States still stands for freedom and opportunity — and warned that if the bill passes, launching a new political platform may be his next step in the ongoing Trump-Elon Musk conflict.
