A police constable previously dismissed over bribery allegations in the high-profile drug case of Anmol alias Pinky may now return to service after reportedly playing a crucial role in her arrest, according to sources.
Reinstatement Under Consideration After Arrest Role
A police constable who was earlier removed from service over allegations of taking bribes from alleged drug trafficker Anmol alias Pinky is now likely to be reinstated, sources familiar with the matter told local media.
According to officials, the constable was originally assigned by senior officers to trace the suspect. He reportedly succeeded in locating Pinky within a week, which is now being cited as a significant operational contribution in the case.
Sources further claimed that despite earlier allegations of facilitating the suspect’s network, the constable’s recent role in assisting the arrest has prompted a reconsideration of his dismissal.
Background of the Case
Pinky was arrested from her apartment in Karachi’s Garden area last week on charges related to running an alleged drug network. Police also recovered weapons, cocaine, and other narcotics reportedly worth around Rs1.5 million during the operation.
Authorities have stated that she was involved in operating a drug supply network in Karachi and is also facing additional murder-related charges. She remains in custody on physical remand as investigations continue.

However, the accused has denied the allegations, claiming she was detained earlier in Lahore and later transferred to Karachi.
Internal Investigation and Earlier Dismissal
The constable in question had previously been dismissed from service following internal inquiries and confidential reports that allegedly linked him to facilitating the same network and receiving bribes.
Despite this disciplinary action, law enforcement officials are now reportedly reviewing his reinstatement due to his operational role in the successful tracing and arrest of the suspect.
Ongoing Legal and Investigative Developments
The case has already triggered wider scrutiny within the police department. Sindh Inspector General of Police Javed Alam Odho recently indicated that further prominent names could emerge as investigations expand, and a dedicated task force is being formed to probe the wider drug network.
Separately, legal proceedings have also seen procedural disputes over remand orders, with courts reviewing earlier decisions regarding the suspect’s custody status.
The development highlights the complexity surrounding the ongoing investigation, where allegations of corruption, operational success, and internal accountability are all intersecting as authorities continue to probe one of Karachi’s most high-profile narcotics cases.
