Bloomberg journalist and gaming insider Jason Schreier, who accurately reported details about GTA 6 before its official announcement, has said that another delay cannot be completely ruled out.
Speaking earlier this year, Schreier explained that Rockstar was still working on essential game content rather than simply polishing bugs or improving performance. According to him, this suggests that core development may still be ongoing.

One reason analysts believe another delay remains possible is Take-Two Interactive’s financial calendar.
The publisher’s 2026–27 fiscal year runs until March 2027, meaning a launch in early 2027 would still fall within the same financial period. This could allow Rockstar to postpone the release without significantly affecting the company’s projected revenue for the fiscal year.
