LONDON: Former Pakistan fast bowler and 1992 World Cup winner Aaqib Javed’s daughter, Uqba Aaqib, has married in the United Kingdom.
The wedding ceremony took place on August 9, with family members and friends attending the special occasion. Uqba’s mother, poet and author Farzana Aaqib, shared photographs and a video from the ceremony on social media, congratulating the newly married couple and praying for their future together.

In the video shared by Farzana Aaqib, the former Pakistan cricketer can be seen accompanying his daughter towards the main wedding area.
Uqba appeared in a traditional white bridal gown, while the groom wore a formal suit for the ceremony. Friends of the bride were also seen accompanying her during the occasion.
Sharing photographs of the couple, Farzana Aaqib wrote: “Alhamdulillah! Our daughter tied the knot in the UK on August 9! May this journey continue to be the best for both families and hearts! Amen.”
The family announcement quickly drew congratulatory messages and good wishes for the newlyweds.

Aaqib Javed’s cricket career
Aaqib Javed was part of Pakistan’s historic 1992 World Cup-winning squad led by Imran Khan.
The former right-arm fast bowler represented Pakistan internationally between 1988 and 1998. During his career, he played 22 Test matches and 163 One-Day Internationals.
Aaqib was particularly known for his pace bowling and played an important role during Pakistan’s cricketing era of the late 1980s and 1990s.
Following his playing career, he remained associated with cricket in various coaching and administrative roles.
