Marvel fans are getting a new way to experience the Avengers as Disney has unveiled the first teaser for Avengers Infinity Defense, a major new attraction planned for Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure.
The first look was presented during D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event in Anaheim, California, where Disney showcased several upcoming attractions and experiences planned for its theme parks.
Unlike a traditional ride that simply takes visitors through a themed environment, Avengers Infinity Defense is designed to place guests directly in the middle of a superhero mission alongside some of the MCU’s biggest characters.
Familiar Marvel Heroes Return
The attraction will feature several stars reprising their iconic Marvel roles.
Robert Downey Jr. will once again appear as Tony Stark/Iron Man, while Chris Hemsworth returns as Thor. Anthony Mackie will portray Captain America, and Jeremy Renner will reprise his role as Hawkeye.
Iman Vellani will also return as Ms. Marvel, who plays an important role in setting the story into motion and introducing guests to their mission.
Downey Jr.’s involvement is particularly notable because this marks another appearance as Iron Man outside of a new MCU movie. His return allows Disney Parks visitors to experience the character in an entirely different format.
Guests Join the Avengers
According to Disney, visitors will become newly recruited heroes and join the Avengers in a battle that spans multiple worlds.
The mission will involve stopping King Thanos and recovering stolen Stark technology. The attraction is expected to take guests through several recognizable Marvel locations, including New York City, Wakanda and Asgard.
Ms. Marvel will reportedly brief guests before they are sent into the larger conflict alongside the Avengers, making them active participants in the story rather than simply observers.
The concept is designed to create an immersive experience that combines the scale of the Marvel universe with the physical excitement of a theme-park attraction.

Iron Man Returns for Another Mission
The return of Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man is arguably the biggest talking point surrounding the attraction.
Tony Stark famously sacrificed himself during Avengers: Endgame, bringing his original MCU storyline to an emotional conclusion. Avengers Infinity Defense, however, gives fans another opportunity to see Downey Jr. portray the character alongside other familiar Avengers.
His return is also interesting because Downey Jr. is set to make another major appearance in the Marvel universe on the big screen. Instead of playing Iron Man, he will portray Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday.
For Disney Parks visitors, however, Downey Jr. will once again be Tony Stark when they step into the Avengers Campus attraction.

Avengers Campus Set for Expansion
Avengers Infinity Defense is scheduled to open in 2028, alongside another new attraction called Stark Flight Lab.
The two additions are expected to significantly expand Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure and create a larger destination dedicated to Marvel characters and stories.
While Marvel Studios continues building toward its next major cinematic conflict involving Doctor Doom, Disney Parks is developing its own large-scale Marvel adventure.
For fans, that means the Avengers will not only continue to evolve on the big screen but will also remain part of an expanding theme-park experience where visitors can step directly into their world.
