The expanded edition was released on Friday through Legacy Recordings and credited to RCA Records. According to its listing on Apple Music, the collection brings together songs from the original 2001 album, additional recordings and two remixes.
The release gives fans an opportunity to revisit an important period in Spears’ career while hearing tracks that had not previously been officially released.
Five Unreleased Tracks
The anniversary edition includes five previously unheard recordings: She’ll Never Be Me, Am I a Sinner, When I Say So, Right Now (Taste the Victory) and My Big Secret.
Among them, She’ll Never Be Me has already received an early official release in October. Spears co-wrote the song with fellow pop star Justin Timberlake.
The 23-track collection also features material from the original album, along with two remixes, making it an expanded retrospective of the singer’s work from that era.
A Turning Point in Her Career
Originally released in November 2001, Britney marked a shift towards a more mature musical style for Spears, who was 19 at the time.
The album featured several popular tracks, including I’m a Slave 4 U, Overprotected and I’m Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman.
It represented an important stage in her transition from teenage pop sensation to a more mature recording artist, helping establish her musical identity beyond her earlier releases.

Spears’ Last Studio Album
Now 44, Spears has not released a full-length album of new material since Glory, which came out in 2016.
The anniversary edition of Britney therefore offers listeners a chance to explore recordings from a significant chapter of her musical journey, rather than introducing a new studio project.
From Teen Star to Pop Icon
Spears rose to international fame in 1998 with her debut single …Baby One More Time. The song became a global hit and established her as one of the most recognisable young performers in pop music.
She continued her success with albums and singles such as Oops!… I Did It Again, Toxic and Womanizer.
Her influence on popular music and her long-running success earned her the nickname “Princess of Pop”.
The 25th-anniversary release of Britney brings renewed attention to the album and gives longtime fans access to five recordings that remained unreleased for years.
