New Delhi – Former Indian left-arm spinner Dilip Doshi has passed away after a prolonged illness.
According to a reputable cricket website, he had been suffering from a heart condition for some time and, despite ongoing medical treatment, could not recover. His passing marks the end of an era and leaves Indian cricket without one of its most seasoned and respected bowlers.
He represented India in 33 Test matches, during which he claimed 114 wickets. Known for his control, consistency, and classical left-arm spin, Dilip Doshi was regarded as one of India’s most reliable spinners and played crucial roles in several memorable victories.
He was also a part of the Indian squad that toured Pakistan in 1982–83, a historic series where he gained significant attention for his performances against top Pakistani batsmen.
