Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed his heartfelt gratitude to former US President Donald Trump for his leadership role in finalizing a historic trade agreement between Pakistan and the United States. The deal is being hailed as a landmark moment in the evolution of bilateral ties.
In a message posted on social media, the Prime Minister congratulated Trump for what he described as a “foundational step toward a lasting partnership” between the two nations. He emphasized that the agreement will protect both countries’ economic interests and open new avenues for cooperation.
High-Level Praise and Economic Optimism
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar also took to social media, saying:
“Alhamdulillah! The US-Pakistan trade deal is finalized — a major success on the diplomatic front.”
Minister of State for Finance Bilal Azhar Kayani revealed that the agreement was reached after lengthy and sustained negotiations. He added that the deal includes significant tariff reductions on goods exported from Pakistan to the United States, offering substantial relief to Pakistani exporters.
“This is a major breakthrough for Pakistan’s economic strategy,” Kayani said. “The agreement will boost our industrial sector, increase exports, and create job opportunities at home. It also includes new areas of cooperation such as joint oil exploration initiatives between the two nations.”
