Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has denied reports circulating on social media that his engagement has been finalised, saying no such development has taken place.
In a video statement issued on Monday, Bilawal addressed speculation about his personal life and rejected reports claiming that his marriage arrangements had been settled.
“I want to make it clear that neither has the match been finalised nor have I got engaged,” Bilawal said.
Bilawal rejects ‘Princess Gloria’ reports
The PPP chairman’s clarification came after reports circulated that President Asif Ali Zardari and Bilawal were in Vienna and allegedly meeting the family of a prospective bride.
Bilawal dismissed the reports, saying social media had already gone ahead and announced his marriage, engagement and wedding.
“First of all, social media has already finalised my marriage talks, engagement and wedding,” he said. “I want to clarify that nothing of this sort has happened, nor do I know any Princess Gloria.”
His comments directly addressed the identity that had been linked to the speculation online, while making clear that he had no knowledge of the reported relationship.

‘Family will make announcement’
Bilawal said that if a decision regarding his marriage or engagement is made in the future, the announcement would come directly from his family.
“If any such personal decision regarding my life is made, the announcement will come directly from my family,” he said.
He also urged people to focus on issues of public importance instead of unverified speculation circulating on social media.
“Until then, please focus on the real issues and ignore these social media spectacles,” Bilawal said.
The PPP chairman argued that such discussions can distract the public from matters requiring greater attention.
“In reality, these social media spectacles are hyped up to divert the public’s attention from actual issues,” he said.

Bilawal criticises Pims handling after infant deaths
During the same video statement, Bilawal also turned his attention to the reported deaths of infants at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) in Islamabad.
He criticised the handling of the situation at the hospital and raised questions over the management of healthcare facilities in the federal capital.
“Recently, 14 children passed away at Pims, in the capital of Pakistan,” Bilawal said.
He then criticised a minister over the issue, using strong political language to question the government’s ability to manage a major hospital.
Sindh Assembly remarks
Bilawal also commented on the debate surrounding the creation of new provinces, referring to remarks made by a minister from Lahore to businesspeople.
He said the issue should be discussed and decided through the relevant constitutional and political forums rather than at public gatherings or business events.
“At a time when a minister from Lahore is telling Lahore’s businessmen to create and run provinces, the Sindh Assembly takes a brave stance and asserts itself,” Bilawal said.
He added that such a major political and constitutional question could not be settled “on the streets” or at a business forum in Lahore.
“That assembly, which was the first to join Pakistan, is where this discussion and decision will take place,” he said.
Bilawal’s latest statement therefore addressed both the personal speculation surrounding his reported engagement and broader political issues, while urging the public to pay greater attention to matters of national importance.
