Rawalpindi: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has stated that Allah Almighty helped Pakistan in the battle of truth because the nation stood firmly on the side of righteousness. He was addressing officers of the 52nd Common Training Program of the Civil Services.
He emphasized that Pakistan gave a strong and fitting response to enemy aggression from Kashmir to the coastline, and all units of the state demonstrated exemplary unity and coordination during the campaign.
Field Marshal Asim Munir further stressed that the development of the country requires a strong bond between the people, the government, and the armed forces of Pakistan. He highlighted that the administration and civil bureaucracy form the foundation of national harmony, and a great responsibility lies on their shoulders.
He declared unequivocally:
“Pakistan has never accepted Indian hegemony, and it never will. We did not bow down before, and we will not bow down in the future.”
Criticizing India, he stated:
“Terrorism in India is a consequence of its oppression of minorities. India is the biggest patron of terrorism in the region.”
Speaking about Afghanistan, he reiterated Pakistan’s desire for strong brotherly relations with the neighboring Islamic country but urged that:
“Afghanistan must not allow its territory to be used by India’s proxies, namely ‘Fitna al-Hind’ and ‘Fitna al-Khawarij’.”
Addressing the youth, he urged:
“Rise above personal and ethnic identities and embrace ‘Pakistaniat’. Loyalty to the country must always be your top priority.”
He concluded by acknowledging that every system can have weaknesses, but reminded:
“As responsible citizens, it is your duty not to let these weaknesses overshadow the system itself.”
