LAHORE: At least nine people were killed and three others injured after the roof of a house collapsed near Sukh Nehr in Lahore’s Baghbanpura area on Thursday, rescue officials said.
According to rescue authorities, emergency teams rushed to the scene and shifted the injured to a nearby hospital for treatment. Rescue workers continued clearing the debris in search of any remaining victims.
Punjab CM orders treatment for injured
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and extended condolences to the bereaved families.
She directed the relevant authorities to ensure the best possible medical treatment for those injured in the incident and instructed officials to closely monitor the rescue and relief operation.
Separate roof collapse in Faisalabad
In another rain-related incident, two children lost their lives and two other people were injured after the roof of a house collapsed during heavy rainfall in Faisalabad.

The injured were shifted to a hospital, while local authorities assessed the damage caused by the collapse.
Recent deadly incidents
The latest tragedy comes just weeks after a devastating roof collapse at a tuition centre in Lahore claimed the lives of 14 children. The victims, aged between 5 and 16 years, included several children under the age of nine, raising renewed concerns over the structural safety of buildings during the monsoon season.
