PM Shehbaz Meets Azerbaijani President to Boost Bilateral Ties

Leaders Agree to Expand Cooperation in Trade, Investment, and Energy at ECO Summit

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on the sidelines of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Summit, where both leaders agreed to further strengthen bilateral relations and enhance cooperation in the fields of trade and investment.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz congratulated Azerbaijan on hosting the ECO Summit and expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality extended to the Pakistani delegation in Lachin.

He also appreciated Azerbaijan’s support to Pakistan during recent tensions with India, stating that Pakistan has always stood by Azerbaijan on crucial issues. Both leaders termed this mutual trust as vital for regional peace and development.

The discussions reflected satisfaction over the growing prospects of bilateral investment, with special emphasis on energy, digital economy, and trade. The Prime Minister said that Pakistan is offering a conducive environment for investment and welcomed Azerbaijan’s participation in these opportunities.

Highlighting the positive momentum in bilateral ties, PM Shehbaz once again extended an invitation to President Aliyev to visit Pakistan in the near future.

This meeting not only served as a stepping stone for deepening Pakistan-Azerbaijan relations but also paved the way for joint efforts toward regional stability and economic growth.
