A Ryanair passenger who says he was nearly sucked out of a plane after a window reportedly detached mid-flight has claimed the airline offered only to rebook his journey, with no compensation or direct contact following the frightening incident.

The incident occurred on a Ryanair flight travelling from Thessaloniki, Greece, to Memmingen, Germany, and remains under official investigation.

Passenger Alleges Lack of Support After Ordeal

Ljubisa Karovic, a Serbian national, told the Daily Mail that he has not received compensation or a personal phone call from Ryanair following the incident.

According to Karovic, the airline only contacted his son—who booked the tickets—through email, asking whether the family wanted to rebook the flight and inquiring about his condition.

“All we’ve had is emails to my son, who booked our flights, asking if we want to rebook and asking how I was. But nobody from the company has contacted me directly – not even a phone call to show any concern,” Karovic said.

Passenger Suffers Injuries and Trauma

Karovic said he suffered severe friction burns, bruising, and lasting psychological trauma after his head and upper body were partially pulled toward the opening when the window reportedly detached during the flight.

He said fellow passengers managed to pull him back into the aircraft, preventing what could have been a fatal accident.

Karovic also said the sound of the window breaking continues to haunt him, leaving him unable to sleep.

Wife Claims Cabin Crew Failed to Help

Karovic’s wife, who helped pull him back into the aircraft, alleged that cabin crew did little to assist during the emergency and that she was left to handle the situation herself.

She claimed crew members did not immediately intervene while the incident unfolded.

Ryanair Rejects Allegations

Ryanair has disputed the family’s account, maintaining that its crew followed all required emergency procedures.

The airline said staff assisted the passenger once the aircraft reached a safe altitude and arranged medical treatment after landing.

Investigation Into Incident Continues

Authorities are continuing to investigate what caused the reported window failure.

Preliminary reports suggest that debris may have struck the aircraft, but investigators have not yet confirmed the exact cause.

Officials are expected to examine the aircraft and review flight data before releasing their final findings.
