SWAT: At least five people were killed and 15 others injured after a suicide bomber targeted Kabal Police Station in Swat on Sunday, according to police and local administration officials.
Authorities said the attacker was intercepted before he could enter the police station and detonated the explosives near the main gate.
Bomber stopped at police station entrance
Malakand Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Syed Fida Hussain said police personnel on duty prevented the suicide bomber from entering the station.
“The suicide bomber was attempting to enter Kabal Police Station, but officers on duty stopped him.”
He said the attacker then detonated the explosives near the police station’s gate.

Assistant Commissioner Kabal confirmed that five people were killed, while 15 others sustained injuries in the explosion.
The injured were shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment, while security forces and rescue teams rushed to the scene.
Human remains recovered
Swat District Police Officer (DPO) Muhammad Omar said the blast occurred near Kabal Chowk.
He added that investigators recovered a human head from the site, which is believed to belong to the suspected suicide bomber.
