Subscribers of YouTube TV and DirecTV Stream have until Tuesday, September 8, 2026, to file a claim for a potential cash payment from a proposed $50 million settlement stemming from an antitrust lawsuit against The Walt Disney Company.
The lawsuit was brought by subscribers who alleged that Disney engaged in conduct that contributed to higher prices for live television streaming services. Disney, which also owns Hulu, ESPN and Disney+, has denied the allegations and admitted no wrongdoing. However, the company agreed to a $50 million settlement to resolve the claims.
With the filing deadline approaching, eligible subscribers who have not yet submitted their claims are being urged to complete the process before the deadline.
Who Is Eligible for the Settlement?
The settlement covers members of the affected class who paid for an eligible live TV streaming subscription through YouTube TV or DirecTV Stream at any point between April 1, 2019, and March 31, 2026.
However, simply having subscribed to one of the services during that period does not necessarily mean a person can automatically receive a payment. Eligible class members must meet the requirements established under the settlement and submit a valid claim.
Subscribers who qualify can submit their claims online through the official settlement claims portal or by mail. The deadline for both methods is September 8, 2026.
What Information Is Needed to File a Claim?
Eligible subscribers who received a settlement notification by email or postcard should have been provided with a Unique ID and PIN. These details are required to complete an online claim.
Claimants may also need to provide information connected to their YouTube TV and/or DirecTV Stream accounts, including the relevant account number and the phone number or email address associated with the account.
Because the settlement process is limited to the defined class, subscribers should use the information provided in their official settlement notice when completing the claim.

How Much Could Eligible Subscribers Receive?
The settlement does not guarantee the same payment to every claimant.
According to the settlement terms described in the case, eligible subscribers will receive a cash payment based on how long they maintained an eligible subscription during the relevant period. Therefore, the amount received may vary from one subscriber to another.
Importantly, submitting a claim does not mean an immediate payment will be issued.
When Will Settlement Payments Be Made?
Payments will not be distributed until the settlement receives final approval from the court.
The final approval hearing for the antitrust settlement is scheduled for January 14, 2027. The court will consider whether the proposed settlement should receive final approval at that hearing.
Until that process is completed, eligible subscribers should not expect to receive their settlement payments.
For subscribers who believe they are part of the affected class, September 8 is the key deadline to submit a claim. Those filing online should ensure their information is entered correctly and that the claim is submitted before the deadline expires.
