Pakistan batter Maaz Sadaqat and fast bowler Mohammad Imran Randhawa have reflected on their performances in the recently concluded T20 International series against Sri Lanka, highlighting their approaches and plans to improve further.
Sadaqat scored 146 runs during the series, while Randhawa emerged as Pakistan’s leading wicket-taker with six wickets. Both players discussed their performances and development plans during a PCB Digital show hosted by former Pakistan captain Salman Butt.
Sadaqat credits positive mindset for batting success
Sadaqat said maintaining a positive mindset played a key role in his performances against Sri Lanka. He added that representing Pakistan at the international level had given him considerable confidence.
The batter also spoke about his desire to carry his form from the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) into international cricket.
“After the CPL, I thought about performing for my country in the same way,” he said.
Sadaqat explained that he aimed to stay positive from the beginning of his innings and looked to play attacking shots whenever deliveries fell within his hitting range.
His approach helped him make a significant contribution to Pakistan’s batting during the series.
Randhawa outlines bowling strategy
Randhawa, who finished the series with six wickets, said he focused on maintaining a consistent line and length while using variations to challenge Sri Lanka’s batters.
The bowler also outlined areas he wants to develop, particularly his yorkers and bouncers with the new ball. He said improving these deliveries would give him more options in different match situations.
Randhawa emphasised the importance of regular practice and match exposure in developing his skills.
