Delegation Meets PML-Q Leadership in Lahore
LAHORE — A delegation met Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, president of the Pakistan Muslim League (Q), and Punjab’s Minister for Industries and Production, Chaudhry Shafay Hussain, in Lahore on Thursday. The meeting took place in a cordial environment, where both leaders hosted a luncheon in honor of the visitors.
During the discussion, participants focused on Pakistan’s current political climate, prospects for national reconciliation, and strategies to strengthen stability. They also shared views on reducing polarization and promoting dialogue among political stakeholders.
Shujaat Calls for Dialogue and Restraint
Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain praised the delegation’s efforts and said their mission reflected a desire to save the country from division. He emphasized that Pakistan could only move forward through dialogue and mutual respect.
Confrontation serves no one, he said. We must work together to cool political tensions and create an environment of cooperation.
Moreover, he reaffirmed his party’s commitment to every effort aimed at peace and reconciliation. According to him, stability requires patience, understanding, and inclusive politics.
A Long History of Reconciliation Politics
Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, a veteran politician and former prime minister, has long promoted what he calls politics of reconciliation. Over the years, his party, the PML-Q, has often acted as a bridge between larger political groups such as the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
In recent months, Pakistan has faced deep political divisions and a fragile economic situation. Therefore, calls for calm and cooperation have gained urgency. Many observers believe that dialogue-driven politics could prevent further instability and rebuild public trust.
Focus on Unity and Cooperation
Both sides agreed that Pakistan’s progress depends on unity and responsible leadership. They stressed that constructive engagement among parties is essential to restore stability and encourage growth.
Chaudhry Shujaat assured the delegation of his full support for any initiative that fosters reconciliation. He said he would continue to play his role as a bridge-builder in national politics, promoting understanding at a time when Pakistan needs it most.
