Pakistan’s Ministry of Religious Affairs has announced plans to recruit medical professionals for the Hajj 2026 mission. Pilgrims can also check registration dates and costs for Hajj 2026 here. This initiative aims to provide comprehensive healthcare support to Pakistani pilgrims traveling to Saudi Arabia.

According to the ministry, the recruitment drive will include doctors, pharmacists, and paramedical staff to ensure medical services are available throughout the pilgrimage.

Eligibility Criteria for Medical Staff

The ministry has set specific eligibility requirements for applicants. Candidates must be between 25 and 55 years old and in good health. Individuals with chronic illnesses such as heart disease, diabetes, or high blood pressure will not be eligible.

Additionally, candidates must submit a fitness certificate from their District Headquarters Hospital. Only active government employees with at least three years of service are eligible. Retired officials or those not currently in service will not be considered.

Positions Available

The Hajj mission requires a total of 294 medical personnel, including 98 doctors and pharmacists and 196 paramedical staff. This workforce will provide essential medical care to Pakistani pilgrims during Hajj, covering routine health needs as well as emergency situations.

The ministry has also set a 30 percent quota for female medical staff, reflecting an effort to address the healthcare needs of female pilgrims.

Selection Process

Applicants will undergo a selection test conducted by the National Testing Service (NTS). Successful candidates will then be appointed to the Hajj medical mission.

The deadline for submitting applications is tomorrow, emphasizing the urgency for eligible candidates to complete their registration.

Health and Safety During Hajj

Hajj is one of the largest annual gatherings in the world, attracting millions of Muslims to Saudi Arabia. Providing adequate medical support is crucial, as pilgrims often face heat exhaustion, dehydration, and infectious diseases due to large crowds and extreme weather.

Pakistan has historically sent well-trained medical teams to Saudi Arabia during Hajj. These teams not only provide emergency treatment but also conduct health awareness programs, including vaccination campaigns, first aid training, and chronic disease monitoring.

Importance of Medical Staff

The deployment of qualified medical personnel ensures that pilgrims can perform religious rituals safely. The mission also aligns with Saudi Arabia’s strict health protocols, which include monitoring pilgrims’ health and providing rapid response to medical emergencies.

With the recruitment of a robust medical team, the Ministry of Religious Affairs aims to minimize health risks and improve the overall Hajj experience for Pakistani pilgrims.
